Manchester City’s Adam Johnson Sought by Liverpool
Man City wants to get over their Carling Cup disappointment by signing England star Adam Johnson.
Manchester City winger Adam Johnson is said to be on Liverpool’s radar. The England speedster is reportedly considering his options since he does not have a regular spot in Roberto Mancini’s starting lineup.
“Every footballer has to think about it when the time comes. It is still early but I definitely would consider leaving,” Johnson said.
Johnson joined City last January for around £11 million and has become an increasingly influential player in the England team.
Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is planning on making a move for the midfielder in January.
Liverpool owners NESV are looking to invest in young talent and, at 23-years-old, Johnson has a bright future ahead of him.
Hodgson thinks Liverpool relys too heavily on the contributions of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.
